Mobile is still the Emperor of Video Games: Chart shows Gaming Platforms in 2025 by Global Revenue

Gaming Platform Share in 2025 by Revenue.

The chart above shows that the previous year was huge for gaming, but it was yet another indication of how big mobile is. In spite of my writings about game streaming platforms, it is a tiny percentage of gaming revenues. It is not even niche; it is basically only available in countries with strong enough internet speeds in order for it to be viable here. However, mobile gaming? That is where the money is.

Mobile gaming in my opinion is worthwhile, but I believe that it has a rather sordid reputation as the app store are full of scams and energy games. Generally speaking, when I began gaming, mobile games was something one saw on Nokia phones. It was a separate platform on that phone not an entire ecosystem here.

The gaming industry is going go to streaming at some point. It simply will give people across the globe an opportunity to play AAA games without needing to buy another computer every couple years.

My computer, which I bought for Starfield in 2023, is already having issues. This is simply why I am mostly streaming my games on my “Gaming” PC because these computers wear out after using it for video editing and playing games. This issue is why video gaming has become so expensive in recent years in America and other regions of the globe.

However, mobile is still on top, and I expect it to be that way for some time. There is simply so many smartphones out there that many people will be relying on this platform for playing their games.
