Why Steam Needs an AI Chatbot

Amazon currently has Rufus integrated into its interface. This chatbot has been very useful for me when using the website to shop clothes and jewelry in particular.

However, when it comes to Steam, there is still no Chatbot guiding prospective purchasers. I think there is an important reason why there should a Steam Chatbot. There are simply too many games on the platform now and we need a better way to find games on there, so the best games get more attention by gamers across the globe.

Steam is a Jungle of Games

Amazon is a jungle and so is Steam. However, one has a navigator while the other is simply an unknown wilderness where you trust your gut that you are actually going to get an interesting game.

Ever since that Steam allowed for so many developers to use Steam as a place to self-publish their games, the place is full of hobby games. While these games may have merit, there is sometimes a need to have a budget which can full realize a game.

The current means of searching through games is not sufficient here.

We need a better way to get games on Steam and that means a Chatbot would be a great way to get through the many games that are now uploaded onto the platform now.

Imagine if you were able to type in your favorite genres and be able to get that information in a more concise way instead of going through Steam’s clunky interface here. The scrolling gets tiresome and we need a change here

An important aspect to the game: Comparing games

An important aspect of this Chatbot would be an ability to compare games easily here. Instead of having to go through multiple tabs, you will be able to compare games within the chatbot window, allowing for players to focus on getting the games they want to purchase.

AI makes information searching easier

I think that Steam has been a great place for many independent makers of games. However, we need have a better way to search for such titles.

Civilization VI vs Civilization Player Count on Steam

Civilization VII is still being outperformed by Civilization V and Civilization VI in player counts. Civilization V outperforming a game that is fifteen years younger than it is surprising, but I should probably be aware that it was possible within our context of the increasing global nature of gaming in our age. Gaming was always global to some extent but there many players uploading videos on YouTube from Vietnam or Egypt who actively play 20-year-old games on their computers as that is their interest and most importantly, their budget for their computers. This tech debt from the Windows XP era is quite noticeable now.

Civilization VII has had a slight increase in its player base over the past couple months. However, this is small increase and mostly because of its DLCs. The game does have a player base unlike some games that have thousands of players upon launch and then you check a couple months later and hardly anyone is playing it. However, this is a game which is still unable to surpass Civilization VI months after release.

What is quite noticeable is that Civilization VII was barely able to surpass the peak player count of Civilization VI in its launch month. Another issue is the week that it was Kingdom Come 2: Deliverance was taking its energy away. While the games are different genres, their player bases overlap more than say a platformer game. Kingdom Come 2 greatly surpassed the original game’s peak player count. Civilization VII had to contend with six different games that came out before it. This is quite the legacy you have to live up to. At some point, the Civilization series was going to reach its creative plateau because it had basically forgotten its player base.

The game is honestly not that good at giving the player a sense of scale. It’s not the realism which players crave but the scale and macro nature of the earlier games.

I have stated many times on here that Civilization VII is a game that does not have unique moments such as this on a macro scale. Playing as China in that game and having Persia launch a nuclear attack on my Communist nation was truly edge of your set material in an old game.

Another interesting moment are the text boxes in Civilization III. I had the Koreans attempting to manipulate my politics. Such little boxes help to flesh out the virtual history playing out on screen. That is what Civilization VII is missing here.

Civilization VI had a decline in player counts as well, but they were not the same. Civilization VII’s player base is smaller and has more competition from not just other games but older Civilization titles. This makes the act of getting the game to surpass both Civilization V and Civilization much tougher in comparison. Civilization VII is simply not better than Civilization VI as it is product of an age in the industry where style means more than substance.

Polish Skyrim: Tainted Grail Sales and Twitch Impact

Tainted Grail Early Sales on Release

Polskiego Skyrima, The Polish Skyrim has arrived to shake up Video Games

Poland has shown itself to be a powerhouse in the making of video games with the release of the RPG, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon initial sales

The Arthurian Dark Fantasy game has been released to the world, and it has some impressive sales. The stats that I have put on the top of this blog post show the estimations of how many sales the game currently has right now.

According to the most estimates, it should be at about 150,000 copies sold already which is great for a game of this size.

The game has barely been out and is currently sitting at a healthy review ratio of very positive on Steam. The game is currently sitting at 84% on Steam, which is very positive.

The recent reviews, which represent the reviews relating to Version 1.0, have been also consistent with the early access reviews.

What is important is that the game is getting attention by streamers on Twitch and YouTubers and that will help this game in the sales.

The player count right now is about 12,000 players. I would expect that Tainted Grail is going to be getting more players in the future and it is not going stagnate.

In the mid afternoon on release, the Twitch numbers are good for a independent title such as this.

Many of the players are a great of mix of Americans, British and Eastern Europeans. There is quite a few of people who are Polish and enjoying that their country had made another great video game in the style of the Witcher.
