Logitech M720 Triathlon: Best Budget Mouse for Work and Play

The M720 Triathlon is one of the best mice for the right price.

The humble computer mouse has gone through quite a journey. The mouse now is a slick and comfortable piece of hardware, but not all mice are built the same.

The Logitech M720 Triathlon Mouse is one of those mice that is well worth the money. Unlike other mice such as those sold at Walmart, this mouse is slightly above the budget price point of other mice.

My previous mouse, a smaller Logitech mouse, was not as comfortable to use.

Unlike the older mouse, this mouse has interesting and unique features in comparison.

One of the unique features to the M720 Triathlon Mouse is the button in the center of the mouse.

The middle button, located near the mouse wheel functions as a way of increasing scroll speed on the cursor. When the button is loose, the scroll speed is much faster on the browsers. Pressing it down when put the scroll speed back to a regular speed on the browser; such a feature is useful for when you are trying to get through long pages quickly on the computer.

The mouse also has three buttons on the left side of the mouse. These buttons can be mapped for any function in any program of your choice. Having these extra buttons make this mouse more useful for people who are looking for easier ways to multitask at the office or for some gamers looking for a budget mouse.

Gamers, specifically, may want a mouse that has more buttons on it. I find the M720 Triathlon mouse to be more useful in an office setting than in the gaming or video editing settings.

What is the price of the M720 Triathlon Mouse?

The Mouse is available for 34.99 at Walmart. It is pricer than some smaller, Logitech mice, but it is worth the additional investment due to its ergonomics and extra buttons.

The Samsung Standard IR Remote Control is universal remote that is built to work on any Samsung TV made after 2012. So, the generation of TVs made before that will not work with this remote.

Samsung has pretty competent at unifying their devices into one interface. This isn’t like in the 1990s or before, where single remote could only work with that particular television. Now, you can many remotes which can work on many generations of Samsung Televisions.

The remote, much like many other universal remotes is an utilitarian device. It is not about the style which matters to the consumer when purchasing such a remote, it the function which it exceeds in expectations.

Who should buy the Samsung Standard IR Remote?

The people who should buy it are people looking for a cheap replacement for their Samsung remote. Power users who want more features or buttons should look for another remote. This remote is mostly utilitarian in its features. It’s not about bell or whistles but fulfilling a need for replacing a broken remote that came with your Samsung television box. This will appeal with people who are budget conscious here.

The Samsung Standard IR Remote Unboxing and Review

The remote unlike earlier remotes is compact and easy to use. In the photograph above, it fits in the palm of my hand with ease. Unlike an earlier generation of remotes, it is easy to store and does not take up much space.

The previous remote that I had was specialized in a sense as it had special buttons for Netflix and Samsung TV Plus. However, not having these buttons is not as important to me. I just scroll on the screen to the app button. These special app buttons can be mapped onto one of the four colored buttons that are on the remote.

The functionality of the remote is probably one of the best of the universal remotes. The remote’s keys are evenly spaced are all within easy reach. The remote weighs quite well within my hands, it is not too heavy and is comfortable in use.

The Samsung Standard IR remote comes in a handy box. It contains two AAA batteries and a quick start guide. The complete manual can be accessed by clicking on the E-Manual button on the lower left side of the remote.

When you purchase the remote, two AAA batteries are provided for you to insert into the back of the remote.

Once you are done with putting in the batteries, the remote should respond to your Samsung TV as long as it was made after 2012 model years.

Where can you purchase a Samsung Standard IR Remote and what is the cost?

At Walmart. This is where I got the device. It was $16.98 in total which is about half as cheap as the Insignia Samsung remotes that Best Buy sells at their stores.

There isn’t really a need to purchase an expensive TV remote above this price.

Overall, the Samsung IR Remote is not a fancy choice, but it works well and is a great form factor which will make an excellent replacement for any Samsung remote in your house.

Oblivion Remastered’s Censorship gives an opening to Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon’s beautiful women.

The Oblivion Remastered Edition has been censoring women. While these changes are small, it is clear that Bethesda Softworks is still going through the process of ”cleaning up” its games. If you compare the screenshot of my character on the left and the screenshot of a drawn woman in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, it is clear that there are two trends happening here.

Having Intimacy in Bethesda Games

Originally, Oblivion was rated ”T” by the ESRB in America. However, after mods in 2006 were taking the clothes off the female characters, the game was re-rated as “M” or mature. The same thing happened to other popular games such as GTA: San Andreas. The video game industry was much bigger than it had been in the 1990s but it was still under the cover. Many people were not paying attention to it.

However, it was clear that the transition of themes relating to relationships between characters began to change between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, where there is a clear shift in how Bethesda approached the issue of player choice and how they could interact with characters of the opposite or same sex.

Fallout 3 had many brutal and sensous characters. However, Fallout 4 was a strange game that did not repersent a progression of the mythos but more of a regression. The sequel was more about domesticity stolen than anything else. The game starts in the Pre-War suburbs of Boston and the all the beauty of domesticity and family life are broken by atomic bombs being dropped on America. Fallout 4 however refuses to allow the player to be anything but a mother or father searching for their son.

This trend meant that Bethesda did not want to make attractive women characters anymore. Any hint of any intimacy in the games was taken out and instead it was hidden behind violence and better shooting mechanics.

The charm that made the Bethesda games simply unique was taken away from the games.

What Tainted Grail can bring some beauty back into games

While this is only a small section of the game, having the image of a woman that is beautiful in a game is enough to garner some outrage in some circles. However, among gamers who think with the heads, are going to be okay with it. That is what matters here. They shouldn’t be trying to appeal to people who have no interest in playing video games. In my previous article on Tainted Grail, I say that it has the potential with becoming the next Skyrim. With the genre being so stagnant, it is clear that there is something needed in order to get to be needed to revigoriate it.
