My thoughts on the RTX 4050’s performance

I have played through Starfield enough to see what the performance is like on my PC. At first, I believe that I was slightly apprehensive about the performance on my PC, but it is clear that this game is going to work just well on my computer.

My CPU is a i7-12650H running at 2.30 GHz.

I have 16GB RAM.

My laptop is a MSI model that has a Geforce RTX 4050. It is considered to be a mid-range video GPU, but it is one of the best workhorses that I have seen. In comparison with other computers that I have owned, the performance is outstanding. It isn’t the best video GPU, but it certainly gets the job done and allows for me to play the game.

On High Settings, the game seems to run very well. It runs okaty at Ultra settings, but that seems to be limit for this computer. I am overclocking my graphics, so that’s probably why its running well as it is.

Unlike other games like Fallout 4, which was notorious for its loading screens, Starfield seems like it has loading screens that don’t take alot of time on my system. Overall, I would say that the RTX 4050 is a great GPU for people who are looking for something that has teeth and a great price to it.

The interactivity of NPCS in Starfield vs other Bethesda titles

The release of Starfield has come and went and we gamers are having much fun with it. It has become one of the highly anticipated games of the year and I am itching to get my hands on it. This is going to be a game that everyone is going to be talking about for many years just like Skyrim. One of the aspects of the game that really interests me is the Artificial Intelligence in the game. While ChatGPT came too close to release for it to have any real impact on Starfield’s development, I am very interested to see what type of interactions we can have with the many NPCs in the game.

The interactions between NPCs are one of those things that I love to see in other games. I will just spend time just walking around, taking a look at the people and machines interacting with each other. It is a true delight to see such technology in action, especially in games such as this.

NPCS in Starfield: Mixed results

While the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was well known for having very static NPCs that really did not really contribute to a living and breathing environment. However, within a span of a couple of years, Bethesda released the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and showed what AI can do in video games.

The NPCS in Oblivion all had their own times they woke up and then when to sleep. They had routines and would do certain things in the game like reading books and performing magic spells. I would just love spending time just watching NPCs walking around and acting out the illusion that they had a greater role in the game than just being set dressing for the environment or a resource for the player.

Skyrim would continue the trend of giving NPCS something to do than just being set dressing for the environment. The game would tone down the level of conversations but emphasize the jobs that people had in the world of Skyrim. This was one of my most favorite parts of the game because it showed how the NPCS had something to do other than being window dressing like in the Morrowind games. These were people with lives outside of the player.

Starfield is a massive game that cost some 200 million dollars to make. Of course, Starfield can’t be everything to everyone. However, Bethesda has tried very hard to accomplish this. As I have played the game, Starfield has this jack of all trades vibe to it. It is a jack of all trades and a master of none.

This is okay, considering that Starfield has modding support and can be turned inton whatever the player wishes.

What I wish the game had been more interactive npcs. It is somewhat disappointing that they do not seem to have schedules but I eventually came to the conclusion that Starfield is more about the game not necessarily the experimental simulations that we saw in Oblivion.

Starfield is a great game and these issues with the NPCs will be resolved with modding. The developers should be applauded for giving us players and prospective programmers a great canvas to build our own adventures in the game. This will provide the game with a great amount of longevity and replayability in the years to come.

Starfield: Early Impressions of the Game

The day has come and Starfield is available for those that pre-ordered it and I have to say that I highly impressed with the game. I was a little apprehensive with the system requirements but the game works perfectly. There is some lag when entering dialogue with characters but everything else is fine. I guess that System Requirements Lab was incorrect in saying that this game couldn’t run on my computer! My graphics card only has 6 GB of VRAM but I feel like my trust GTX 4050 is doing the job of rendering the game properly and efficiently. I have no complaints about the game’s performance.

Starfield as a game is something that has to be enjoyed over a long period of time. I understand that there are some negative reviews of the game which criticize the game for being too ambitious. Honestly, I like seeing too much ambition. The video game industry has been playing it safe for too long and I am glad to see that Bethesda decided to make the crucial choice in making this game as ambitious as possible. I am sick and tired of seeing games like Call of Duty release year after year and no-one calls them out on it.

Starfield is a new IP and we should be supporting it with our wallets. Unlike Call of Duty, Starfield is going to pushing new boundaries that we haven’t seen in video games before. As reviews have stated about this game, this is a massive game and not everything will be something that a player will do in their playthroughs.

We live in a cynical age and yet Starfield is a miracle of a game.

While some may find the game’s intro to be boring, I was impressed with it and I found the graphics to be incredible. I have been largely playing low-polygon games recently and yet Starfield is an incredible beauty to look at. I am greatly impressed with the work that Bethesda has put into this game.

While I haven’t played the game enough to be sold on the story, I have to say that it is causing me to be very happy that Bethesda made this game. Had it been any other studio and we would be talking about glitches.

I write a bigger review when I spend more time with the game.

Here is a list of my Pros and Cons with the game.

The Pros

  1. Great graphics
  2. Engaging opening
  3. Great thematic score
  4. Excellent performance on my computer
  5. Interesting characters

The Cons

  1. Intro may seem uninteresting to some
  2. Space combat seems counterintuitive
  3. Game may start slow
  4. The game is very demanding and require a powerful computer.
  5. Starfield is one of those games that requires you to enjoy Bethesda’s previous games to really get the best experience.
