Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered 2025 Impressions

The Elder Scrolls IV: Remaster is here!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been reintroduced to the world and it is making waves across the globe.

I was initially skeptical of such a game releasing now. I thought that Bethesda would want to release the Elder Scrolls VI first before remastering Oblivion. Apparently, Bethesda has shown themselves to be efficient and competent at their jobs.

Unlike the Avowed game that came out, this game is actually well made. All it needed was a facelift to make it better. I think this is one of the reasons why the Remastered version has over 160,000 Players on Steam now. Bethesda has shown that UE5 or Unreal Engine 5 can make old games beautiful again.

I think that the game is truly a huge step up from the original game. I played the original for many hours, but these graphics make it seem like a whole new experience.

My first character is a Nord who named after the 15th Century military and spiritual leader, Joan of Arc.

I am still in the opening dungeon in the game and yet the details are all there. The leafs on the vines and the trees going into the dungeons. In comparison with the original games’ style, it is alot more alive and colorful. Such a contrast between the stone and the greenery is one of the reasons why I love Oblivion more than Skyrim.

I think the Remaster is a test tube for Bethesda to show off what they will do with the Elder Scrolls VI.

With the release now a success and the Elder Scrolls VI on the horizon, I think that we should thank them for even paying attention to this game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion gets another lease on life and that is worth its weight in gold in an industry not known for respecting its products.

Enjoy the game!
