Mastering Email Searches with Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot has been my favorite chatbot since it released under as Bing Chat in 2023.

One of the most interesting new features which has been included in the AI chatbot is the ability to search through your emails through context on the Copilot website. You do not have to open the email client or go on the website and use the chatbot already included in it. You can just simply go to the web version of Copilot.

To get your inbox connected to your Copilot account, you have to follow these steps.

In the chat window here, there is an icon that is here with the arrow.

Click on the icon and these options will appear.

These options allow you to connect your email account to Copilot. As such, you are training the AI model with your data and making it more usable to your specific needs here.

On my computer, I tend to have Microsoft OneDrive, Outlook and Gmail as connected to my Copilot AI.

To start, all you simply need to do is write out a prompt about emails and give context about your search. This isn’t just about keywords anymore, but you can write in generalities which makes this more precise than the old systems here.

Copilot Emails

When you get a result here, it will give you the list of emails according to your search. Links are included in search and when you click on it, it opens the web client to your inbox.

This is a very powerful feature in Copilot. Instead of opening your email client with tons of emails to sync into your inbox, you can simply search for them here. Instead of just looking at keywords, you can put context into your search, making it easier to see what you are looking at here.

In the image above, Copilot sometimes will organize your prompt’s answer into a chart. This is the most optimal way in order to look at your emails.

What makes this so powerful is that you continue the conversation. In earlier versions, you only had keywords to work on. Now, the AI provides recommendations at the end of each answer, giving you more opportunities to optimize your emails.

Writing specific prompts also allow you move beyond keywords in your search. Here is a clear example of how powerful Copilot is.

As you can see here, Copilot is capable of more than just listing your emails in chronological order or according to specific topics. It is able to be a secretary and provide context to each individual email in your inbox.

In comparison to earlier generations of Outlook, such a tool is going to make many White-collar professionals more efficient in their jobs. It will even add newer insights to their professional careers that they wouldn’t ordinarily have.

Copilot is an amazing tool which makes something so mundane and ordinary into something that has greater potential to unlock creativity and productivity in more workers.

Can Meta’s Glasses make AR popular?

AR (Augmented Reality) can provide the diffusion of computing power that this age really needs. Instead of staring at TV screens, smartphones or computers. Right now, the only company really paying attention to this is Mark Zuckerberg’s company, Meta. The company that began as Facebook is only just pouring money into hardware as well as AI. While many people are criticizing him, Meta is one of the few companies capable of being able to compete with China in these areas. Many Americans still think of China in the 1970s which it isn’t anymore. Even under Mao, they managed to launch satellites into space and build their own spaceport. America needs companies competitive in many high-tech areas and Meta can be one of those companies which help our nation here.

The Meta Glasses are in continuity with another one of Zuckerberg’s projects, the Occulus Rift, a VR headset which has sold hundreds of thousands across the globe. However, the device is still niche in spite of its success. The main issue is one of style and how it can integrate with people and how they already interact with computers. The issue is to make it fashionable more than just another black slab on the table but something that can wear as jewelry amongst their colleagues.

The secret that we need here is to have technology return to the zeitgeist of the Y2K.

That is an era of style and beauty here.

While some may see it as tacky, Y2K had something unique which our current age is missing, a holistic integration of form and function. In our age now, form has become less important, and it is function which is often more important here.

What we need is style in tech again. Ray-Ban, a popular glasses brand has teamed up with Meta to make a new kind of glasses. These Ray-Ban Meta Glasses are a sign that computing is becoming more than just about keyboards and mice. Mark Zuckerberg has already stated that the glasses have sold some 2 million and this is very impressive for a new device here. Even Amazon is going to be introducing smart glasses for its drivers on the roads. Such devices are going to be integrated into everyday life which is important for the sales to increase. Consumers have to see that this product is practicable not just a hobbyist tool or a niche corporate tool which only affects small sections of an industry.

AI glasses can make the digital age spring out of the screen and onto the streets. That is the great promise of this technology. No longer will we be looking at blue light alone. It will integrate with meat space and revolutionize our lives and state.

Oblivion’s AI is still remarkable and still influences games today.

In the Imperial City Arena District, you can see an Argonian male and a Redguard Female fighting each other. They are not in combat but in a script where has them train each other in hand to hand combat at specific times of day. Watching them for a bit gives you +5 boost to your hand-to-hand combat skills; such attention to details and interaction with the world is rare in video games.

When people talk about video games outside gaming, it still seems to be in a time warp of the 1980s. Most of the media newsmongers have no understanding of video games or even seem want to care about it. There is so much potential in the medium, yet it seems to be ignored, which I think it is sign of how video games have retained their renegade status. While men in suits attempt to continue monetizing it, video games are similar in a sense to Gladiatorial games in Ancient Rome. In comparison with chariot racing, Gladiatorial games were not as popular but had more of a cultural impact that the elites did not want to admit. Video Games linger in the shadows of the more acceptable entertainment of Television and Movies. However, it’s in video games where we see the future of storytelling going towards, beyond the linear and static movies of the past. While movies have a place, the medium is so stagnant that there is little in feature films which can change. It is in video games where you see real change.

The change is in the graphics and more recently in the AI.

With all the hype surrounding AI or Large Language Models (LLMs), gamers saw the first salvo in the spreading of AI throughout our societies.

The Radiant AI in Oblivion and Skyrim were quite competent here. They are still in the early stages of showing us what is possible in video games. The cities and villages have more life than anything you see in Cyberpunk 2077, which for me was a big step down from we saw with the Witcher Games.

You can see the influence of Radiant AI in GTA VI’s ambitions.

Seeing the Argonian and the Redguard train in the arena was just the preview of how AI can transform games as much graphics were able to do so in the 1990s. We will have more than just games but living simulations.
