Google Gemini is expanding its usefulness beyond the browser and the mobile app. I just saw that the Google Gemini is available within the YouTube Smart TV apps.
The Gemini icon will appear on the YouTube player screen. Clicking on it gives you options to recommend similar videos or summarize the content. After clicking either of those options, the Ask options expand towards other questions and queries.
This is a very important change to YouTube. Google is transitioning its entire ecosystem into an answer engine here. It started with the website and the app on your phone. Now, it is going to be on the most social of all entertainment and information vehicles, the television.
The television has gotten a reputation among many people as being a passive experience.
Google Gemini’s integration helps to change that. Through this integration, maybe people can become more productive with the screen usage here.
Passive viewing turns into something that is true engagement, not just having comments but actively engaging in a conversation with the videos on the social media site.
