Why Video Gaming needs to return to play not chores

There is a sense that one gets that video games have become too complex. Our graphics are more advanced than ever before and yet many gamers on YouTube seem to say the same thing: The games are stale and boring.

In comparison with the 1990s, when it seemed that frontiers were explored every month in those years, the industry has become a placid place.

What video games need to remember is that fun is the most important thing here. Not complexity. We can have complexity but not at the expense of entertainment in the gameplay.

Many companies just want to pad their gameplay with tasks.

We did not buy games for chores or tasks.

We buy them for adventure and accomplishment within our relaxation.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has the graphics and the story but it’s the gameplay that makes players stay with a game.

This is what needs to change in the Video Game industry. Entertainment needs to come before complexity here.
